A 'drop' that I gladly rated and noted with 94 points: A noble, ripe aroma, for which such Rieslings are famous, with notes of candied lemon peel, nectarine compote, and blossom honey; on the palate, high elegance underpinned and guided by a fine liveliness, from which a salty undertone slowly and subtly emerges; very elegant, crystalline length with beautiful mineral notes – promises a great future. 1ÖTW stands for Erste Lage der Österreichischen Traditionsweingüter - Austrian Estates with Tradition. Edlmoser Wine Estate and Wine Tavern

Founded by winemaker and wine tavern owner Michael Edlmoser, the approximately 20-hectare vineyard is located within the city limits of southern Vienna, primarily encompassing vineyards in the "small" Maurerberg vineyard area. This area lies on the gentle foothills of the Austrian Limestone Alps, characterized by its limestone soils. The name derives from the Viennese district of Mauer. Of particular note is the Satzen vineyard (related to the famous Viennese Gemischter Satz blend), which slopes gently southward along the gentle hillsides of a small side valley. Edlmoser's holdings in this area are among the 1ÖTW, Erste Lagen (Premier Cru) vineyards of the Austrian Traditional Wine Estates. Incidentally, "Ried" is the Austrian word for vineyard site. His wine tavern is also very inviting. A visit is highly recommended!
